XI Annual Conference from the series of Leontief Readings "State and Economic Freedom: Friends or Foes?"

On February 17-18, 2012 in St Petersburg XI Annual Conference from the series of Leontief Readings "State and Economic Freedom: Friends or Foes?" was held.

The Programme of XI Annual Conference "State and Economic Freedom: Friends or Foes?" involved four sections: 

• Political, Economic Freedoms and Development: what the World Experience Says?
• The Russian Economy in the XXI Century: Stabilization after Chaos or the Escape from Freedom?
• Economics of Prohibitions and Social Capital
• Economic Freedom and its Foes

On February 18, 2012 in the Mikhailovsky Castle VI Award Ceremony of International Leontief Medal Laureates 2011 for Contribution to Economic Reforms took place.
 
       Leontief Medal laureates 2011:

• Andrey Shleifer, Professor of Economics, Harvard University
• Vitaliy Nayshul, President of the Institute of national model of economy, (Moscow) 

Charles Wyplosz, Professor of International Economics at the Graduate Institute (Geneva), Laureste of the International Leontief Medal “For Contribution to Economic Reforms” (2010) participated in the Conference with traditional lecture of the Laureate.
