To study foreign investor participation in privatizations in St. Petersburg
Methods and substance of research:
The paper studies the investment programmes by foreign companies who won investment sales at three enterprises: Baltica Brewery, Samson (meat factory), and Petmol (dairy products).
The authors also analyze foreign company participation in voucher auctioning, and review conflicts that arose at enterprises privatized with foreign participation
Results of research:
The paper contains an assessment of the scale and dynamics of foreign participation in privatisation in St. Petersburg, reviews the barriers hindering its expansion and suggests to how the city can make its privatizations more attractive for international investment
