To provide an estimate of the investment rating of St.Petersburg industries and their products
    
Methods and substance of research:

On the basis of 1993 statistics, the paper provides an investment estimate of the rating of St.Petersburg industries, calculated on the basis of five economic indices: the rate of return on capital, the fixed assets depreciation rate, the utilization ratio, and the competitiveness on international and domestic markets. The rating of the types of manufacturing products was calculated on the basis of two economic indices: product profitability and potential market capacity (domestic and international competitiveness). The calculations covered about 600 types of products. The paper provides information on St. Petersburg industries and sub-industries with the highest investment rating
    
Results of research:

The paper identified the development trends of the domestic investment market; provided an estimate of the investment rating of St. Petersburg industries; and determined the investment attractiveness of products by: food industry (confectionary, beer, meat and sausage), petro-chemical and oil-processing industry, power engineering and raw material industries
