2026-01-27 :: Working Visit to Tomsk Oblast as Part of Developing the Regional Development Strategy

From January 19 to 23, R.M. Voronkova, a research fellow at the Leontief Center for Social and Economic Research, visited Tomsk Oblast as part of a team of experts developing the Tomsk Oblast Socioeconomic Development Strategy. The visit focused on the spatial development of the region’s municipalities.

 

During the visit, a number of meetings were held with representatives of regional and local authorities, including working meetings with the administrations of the Tomsk Urban District, the Closed Administrative-Territorial Entity (ZATO) of Seversk, and the Tomsk District. An agglomeration strategic session was also held with representatives of Tomsk, the Tomsk District, and Seversk. Experts visited the Kolpashevsky District and the village of Togur to learn about the Ketsky forestry complex and held separate working meetings with the leadership of the Shegarsky, Kozhevnikovsky, and Asinovsky Districts.

 

The meetings discussed socioeconomic and territorial challenges, assessed the development potential of settlements, including remote ones, and explored problematic and priority locations.

 

Representatives of the Department of Economics and the Department of Urban Development of the Tomsk Region, as well as experts from Tomsk State University, participated in this work.
