2021-12-09 :: I.A. Karelina was awarded the "Golden Lion" award of the Committee for Foreign Relations of St. Petersburg in the field of international and interregional cooperation

On December 9, at the Derzhavin Museum-Estate, at the annual Fifth Solemn Award Ceremony of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg "Golden Lion" in the field of international and interregional cooperation, General Director of the Leontief Center I.A. Karelina was awarded the Golden Lion award. I.A. Karelina became the winner in the nomination "For effective cooperation in promoting the export potential of St. Petersburg."

The award was established in 2017 and is awarded to individuals and organizations that have provided significant assistance in developing cooperation between St. Petersburg and foreign partners and regions of the Russian Federation in promoting the interests of our city. The awards are awarded on the basis of the decision of the Expert Council - the leadership of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg. Awards to the winner in this nomination together with the Chairman of the FAC E.D. Grigoriev was presented by the Deputy Chairman of the Committee A.D. Khlutkov.

I.A. Karelina has been working at the Leontief Center for 30 years since its foundation. As the head of the Leontief Center, she was the initiator of using international experience in organizing reforms in the field of supporting small and medium-sized businesses, creative industries, in finding partners for entrepreneurs in St. Petersburg, solving environmental problems, and strategic regional planning. In 1996, on behalf of the leadership of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg, I.A. Karelina became the representative of St. Petersburg in the Committee for Spatial Planning and Development in the Baltic Sea Region and has been actively involved in its work for more than 25 years. Karelina I.A. is a member of the Monitoring Committee of the Russia-EU Cross-Border Cooperation Program “Interreg. Baltic Sea Region. As part of this activity, he defends projects approved by the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg. Since 2002, the Leontief Center has been the initiator and organizer of the Forum of Strategists - the main discussion platform for key participants in Russia’s strategic planning with the involvement of a wide range of international organizations. I.A. Karelina is a member of the Public Council under the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg and the Coordinating Council for Border and Interregional Cooperation of the Northwestern Federal District.
