2020-05-15 :: Series of Seminars “Economics and Culture”
In May-December 2020, the series of seminars “Economics and Culture” will be held in St. Petersburg.
May-June:
- Presentation “Religion as an Independent Variable: New Economic Research of the Reformation” by Vasily Arslanov, Senior Researcher at the Center for Methodological and Historical and Economic Research, Institute of Economics RAS, PhD (University of Göttingen), Graduate of the Faculty of History at Lomonosov Moscow State University.
- Presentation “Johann Heinrich Gottlob von Justi (1717–1771) on International Trade” by Ere Nokkala, Researcher at University of Helsinki, Department of Philosophy, History and Art Studies; Author of the book “From Natural Law to Political Economy: J.H.G. von Justi on State, Commerce and International Order”; Editor of the book “Cameralism and the Enlightenment: Happiness, Governance and Reform in Transnational Perspective” at Routledge Publishing House.
- Presentation of the book “About Distribution: Practices and Concepts” by Gintautas Mazeikis, Vytautas Magnus University (Kaunas, Lithuania), and Galina Orlova, National Research University Higher School of Economics (Moscow, Russia).
September-December:
- Round table “LABOUR/LEISURE – ON/OFF” that will discuss, among other things, the research results carried out during the implementation of the project “Labor and Leisure”.
- Presentation “Encounter of the Third Kind: Mikhail Rostovtsev and Wisconsin Institutionalists” by Yuri Tulupenko, Cand. Sci. (Econ.), Associate Professor at Economic Theory and Economic Education Department, Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia.
- Round table “Marxism Prior to Marxism: The Legacy of Nikolai Ziber”. The round table will present the research results carried out within the framework of the current project.
- Round table “Cameralism in Russia”. Speakers: Danila Raskov, Cand. Sci. (Econ.), Project Manager at ICSER Leontief Centre, Centre for Research of Economic Culture at Saint Petersburg State University; Irina Chaplygina, Cand. Sci. (Econ.), Associate Professor at History of National Economy and Economic Concepts Department, Lomonosov Moscow State University; Alexander Dubyansky, Dr. Sci. (Econ.), History of Economics and Economic Thought Department Head, Saint Petersburg State University.
- Presentation of the book “In Search of a Person. Essays on the Methodology and History of Economic Thought” by Vladimir Avtonomov, Dr. Sci. (Econ.), Academic Supervisor of the Faculty of Economics at Higher School of Economics (since 2011), Dean of the Faculty of Economics at Higher School of Economics (2000-2011), Professor, Economic Methodology and History Department Head, Higher School of Economics.
