XIXth Annual International Conference of the Cycle “Leontief Readings” – “Economics and Sociology”

The conference was attended by leading Russian and foreign scholars representing leading research organizations. At the conference, 20 papers were presented, followed by discussions and debates.

Boris Kolonitskii, a leading historian of the Russian Revolution, European University at St. Petersburg, gave a special lecture dedicated to 150th anniversary of Vladimir Lenin’s birth – “Will Lenin be alive? A politician in the history of the Russian revolution and Russian historical memory”.

The conference ended with the Ceremony of Awarding with the International Leontief Medal “For Contribution to Economic Reforms”, which took place on February 15 at the St. Michael’s Castle. The Leontief Medal 2019 is awarded to Sergei Guriev, Doctor of Science in Economics, Professor of Economics at the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po), Rector of the New Economic School (2004-2013). Sergei Guriev is awarded for outstanding results in development and teaching of economic science, active assistance in the formation of civil society and economic reforms in Russia.
