XIV All-Russia Forum "Strategic Planning in the Regions and Cities of Russia: the Space for Choice and Choice of Space"

XIV All-Russia Forum "Strategic Planning in the Regions and Cities of Russia: the Space for Choice and Choice of Space" was held on October 19-20, 2015 in St. Petersburg.

The main Forum objective - is to promote thoughtful update, rethink regional and municipal strategies taking into account modern realities such as: continuing global economic uncertainty and the need to accelerate regional development of the country.

The two-day Forum Programme was very intensive: it were held 3 plenary sessions and 36 actions, including round tables, expert panels and seminars where about 300 speakers, moderators and participants of the discussions presented their reports.

Forum participants discussed the preparation of the Strategy for Socio-Economic Development of the Russian Federation until 2030 and the Strategy of Spatial Development of the Russian Federation, as well as the challenges of formation of interconnected system of documents at the federal, regional and municipal levels; evaluated results of the adoption of the Federal Law №172 "On the Strategic Planning in the Russian Federation". Forum Green Day Programme included challenges of developing strategies for sustainable development and regional branding of cities and regions, master plans, promotion of "green investments" in infrastructure, green certification, implementation of resource-saving technologies in housing construction.

At the Forum it were held two new contests - Strategies Visualization and Photo Contest. St. Petersburg (Category 1: Symbol - Strategy visual image) and the Republic of Tatarstan (Category 2: brief visual presentation of the Strategy core content) became the winners of the contest. Novoshakhtinsk, Krasnodar region, Surgut received diplomas of the contest finalists. Omsk, Pskov and Yuntolovo municipality (St. Petersburg) became the winners of the photo contest Cities for People. Winners were chosen by the online voting.
