2017-06-17 :: Leontief Centre Employees Took Part in the Second World Congress of Comparative Economics - "1917-2017: Revolution and Evolution in Economic Development" (NRU HSE in St. Petersburg)

Director-Coordinator for Research Programmes Leonid Limonov, Senior Research Fellow Andrey Zaostrovtsev, Research Fellow of ANO ICSER Leontief Centre Marina Nesena, Head of Research Department Nina Oding, Research Fellow Andrey Yushkov took part in the Second World Congress of Comparative Economics - "1917-2017: Revolution and Evolution in Economic Development", held in National Research University Higher School of Economics in St. Petersburg. Leonid Limonov and Director-General of ICSER Leontief Centre Irina Karelina were members of the Academic Council and the Congress Organizing Committee. Leontief Centre was the Congress partner in organizing and holding two special sessions – "Russian Post-Communist Institutions in Comparative Perspective: Modernization or Path Dependence?" and "Empirical Studies of Russian Economy".

Leonid Limonov was the organizer and moderator of a number of sessions - "Regional and Urban Development in Russia and Other CIS Countries: Comparative Studies" (in collaboration with the Regional Studies Association), "Housing Policy: 100 Years of State Intervention", "Empirical Studies of Russian Economy" (in collaboration with the ICSER Leontief Centre), and also take part in the Editors’ Panel and jointly with Marina Nesena made a report on the theme "The Role of Cultural and Ethnic Diversity in Social and Economic Development: Russian regions in Comparative Perspective" at the session "Regional and Urban Development in Russia and Other CIS Countries: Comparative Studies" (in collaboration with the Regional Studies Association).

Andrey Zaostrovtsev was the organizer and moderator of the session "Russian Post-Communist Institutions in Comparative Perspective: Modernization or Path Dependence?" (in collaboration with the ICSER Leontief Centre) and made a report on the theme "Russian Historical Path Dependence: The Road to Neostatism".

Nina Oding made a report on the theme "Prerequisites, Obstacles and Perspectives for Digitalization in the regions of Russia" at the session "Empirical Studies of Russian Economy" (in collaboration with the ICSER Leontief Centre). Andrey Yushkov made a report on the theme "Natural Resources, Federalism and Economic Development in Russian Regions".

The Congress has become the largest scientific event in the field of economic research and a high-profile event in the scientific life of St. Petersburg.
