On the 8th of June The 10th Award Ceremony of the prize n.a. Boris Ovsievich, professor, to Award winners of 2014 was held in the House of Scientists n.a. Maksim Gorky (St. Petersburg). Organizers of the ceremony: St.Petersburg Economics and Mathematics Institute, RAS; St.Petersburg Scientific Center, RAS; Foundation of Egor Gaidar; ICSER Leontief Centre. 

 

Prize n.a. Boris Ovsievich established at St. Petersburg Economics and Mathematics Institute, RAS in 2005 to support talented young Russian scientists for fundamental economic and mathematical researches, undertaken in Russia in the following areas: theoretical economics (macro and micro); game theory and operations research; mathematical methods for the analysis of economic processes; optimization theory. 

 

The Council Prize includes scientists of the St. Petersburg Scientific Center, RAS; St.Petersburg Economics and Mathematics Institute, RAS; European University in St. Petersburg and ICSER Leontief Centre. According to the Regulations of the Prize the competition can be participated by persons, who have not attained 40 years and have publications in leading peer-reviewed national and (or) foreign journals. Examination of work carried out by scientists working in the same specific area as the participant. The competition results are summed by the Council. In summing up the results the Council decides on the winners of the competition, the number and size of awards. Along with the prize laureates receive Honorary Diploma. During the years 2005-2013 37 young scientists received an award.

 

The winners of 2014 are: 

 

II Prize - Ekaterina Palamarchuk (Central Economics and Mathematics Institute, RAS, Moscow) for the work "Methods and Criteria of Optimality of Economic Systems in the long-term Planning in the face of uncertainty"; 

 

III Prize - Kristina Mozgovaya (NRU "Higher School of Economics", St. Petersburg) for the work "Mathematical modeling of limit sales in airline revenue management"; 

 

Incentive Bonus - Arsen Arutynov (Institute of Control Problems n.a. Vadim Trapeznikov, Moskva) for the work "Research of Interbranch Flows ( On the example of Fuel and Energy Complex and Agricultural Complex) to study Structural changes of Macroeconomic System of Russia with the help of the method of discrete and statistical analysis, and optimization models". 

 

During the Ceremony Opening welcoming adresses were made by: 

Irina Ganus, Deputy Chairman of the Committee of Science and Higher Education; Irina Eliseeva, Corresponding Member of RAS, Honored Scientist of Russia, Director of the Institute of Sociology; Gayane Safarova, Deputy Director of EMI RAS. Congratulations were made by: Mikhail Elyashevich, co-chairman of the Coordinating Council of the St. Petersburg Union of Scientists; Vladimir Matveenko, Professor of the Department of Institutional Economics, National Research University "Higher School of Economics"; Kirill Borisov, Leading Researcher of St. Petersburg Economics and Mathematics Institute, RAS; Maksim Buev, Dean of the Faculty of Economics at the European University in St. Petersburg as well as the Award Winners of previous years.
