The publication is based on the findings of the project "East West Window" in the framework of neighborhood program in the Baltic Sea region Interreg IIIB 2007-2008. The aim of the project is to find ways of advanced development of the Baltic Sea region through effective use of existing potential in the region. The book deals with challenges of the North-West of Russia integration in the economic space of the Baltic region. Particular attention is given to the role of St. Petersburg and the Kaliningrad region in the integration process, the development of urban-rural partnerships, integration challenges of the North-West transport and energy infrastructure of Russia in the Baltic Sea region, as well as the establishment of marine spatial planning. The publication is addressed to economists, geographers, political scientists, authorities, experts in the field of regional development, lecturers, postgraduate students and undergraduate students.
