2025-10-17 :: 18th Session of the National Guild of Urban Planners

From October 8 to 11, Research Fellow R.M. Voronkova of the Leontief Center for Social and Economic Research participated in the 18th Session of the National Guild of Urban Planners (Kostroma) as the moderator of the section "Historical and Cultural Heritage as a Driver of Urban Development." The theme of this annual event was "Spatial Development of Central Russia. A Look into the Future."

Participants in the discussion included specialists from various fields, all involved in historical and cultural aspects in the regions of Central Russia. Using various project, management, and scientific approaches, practices for working with cultural heritage sites and the historical urban context were discussed. Speakers noted the growing trend of working with cultural heritage, which is no longer the domain of protection and restoration. Today, it is an important resource for territorial development, enabling the launch of new economies in the areas of tourism, services, creative and educational projects.
