2025-09-12 :: R.M. Voronkova – Head of the Spatial Planning Workshop at the Summer School for Young Scientists

From August 24 to 31, Rimma Mazkharovna Voronkova, a research fellow at the Leontief Center for Social and Economic Research, participated in the "Okoyom" Summer School for Young Scientists at the invitation of Northern Arctic Federal University (NArFU). She led the spatial planning workshop, which included graduate and master’s students from ITMO University’s Institute of Sociology and Management. The Summer School was organized by NArFU (Arkhangelsk) and the "Polus" Center for Young Researchers, a representative of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, with the support of the Solovetsky State Historical, Architectural, and Natural Museum-Reserve.

The spatial planning workshop proposed development directions for the territory that would preserve the spirit of the place, its culture, and its natural environment, while taking into account the vital interests of the local population and communities. The project’s motto, "Solovki—a space of eternal dialogue," will set the tone for subsequent stages, which will include completing the systematization of field data, formulating principles, and proposing a system of activities and an algorithm for territorial development. The final presentation of the project solutions will take place in December 2025 in the Arkhangelsk Region.
