2023-11-14 :: Training seminar on road safety

November 9-10 in Volgograd, project manager for sustainable development and Internet technologies of the Leontief Center O.A. Yakimenko acted as a co-moderator of a specialized training seminar “Ensuring road safety: modern approaches and best practice methods (including when ensuring the transportation of dangerous goods).” The organizers of the seminar are the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, FBU Rosavtotrans, OJSC NIIAT and the Association of Transport Engineers.

Olga Yakimenko held a debate on the topic of sustainable mobility, organized by ICSER “Leontief Center” as part of the series of business games for sustainable development “Game of Goals”. Divided into two teams “for” and “against”, the participants actively discussed three topics:

Free public transport encourages people to stop using a private car.

The ban on the use of private vehicles in the city center stimulates the development of public transport.

Banning e-scooters improves the safety of vulnerable groups in the city.

The seminar included three sessions with a detailed analysis of the identified problems and possible ways to solve them. The event was held in a mixed format: more than 70 participants were present in person and about 300 people were present online.
