2023-03-17 :: L.E. Limonov delivered a report on the development of cities

On March 15, director-coordinator of research programs L.E. Limonov spoke in the section of socio-economic problems and statistics of the St. Petersburg House of Scientists. M. Gorky with the report "Modern directions of research into the processes of urban development."

The report discusses trends in the development of spatial economics, the transition to the use of big data in empirical research, the development of models of evolutionary economic geography, micro-foundations of agglomeration effects. Particular attention was paid to approaches to the analysis of the local environment and local networks (“genius of place”) and their interaction with global trends and innovations (“zeitgeist”).

The seminar was attended by well-known scientists specializing in various fields of social sciences, economics and statistics. After the report, a discussion and exchange of views on the issues raised by the speaker took place.
