Head of projects on sustainable development and Internet technologies of the Leontief Center O.A. Yakimenko acted as an expert in the 24th session of the International Baikal Winter Urban University (Winter University), which took place in the city of Usolye-Sibirskoye, Irkutsk Region. During the event, Olga Yakimenko spoke on the topic “Sustainable Urban Development: Modern Trends and New Challenges”.

 

The Winter University program is an original model for training young specialists in various specialties related to urban development. During the sessions, participants acquire the skills of analytical and conceptual thinking, interdisciplinary teamwork, go beyond the traditional framework in solving complex problems, considering issues globally.

 

Over 22 years of the Winter University’s work, more than 1,000 young professionals, assistants, experts, members of the international jury, representing more than 50 universities from 42 countries, have taken part in design and innovation educational programs.
