2023-02-10 :: The Leontief Center took part in the development of the Master Plan for the sustainable development of tourism in the historical part of the city of Vyborg

Head of projects on sustainable development and Internet technologies of the Leontief Center O.A. Yakimenko took part as an expert in the development of the Master Plan for the sustainable development of tourism in the historical part of the city of Vyborg, which is based on the principles of sustainable tourism and takes into account the current and future economic, social and environmental impacts while meeting the needs of tourists, the tourism industry, the environment and the local community.

 

The master plan was developed on behalf of the administration of the municipality "Vyborgsky District" by a consortium of planners and experts with the participation of the city and the expert community.

 

The main goal of the project is to balance the economic benefits from tourism with the strategic interests of the city: sustainability, improving the quality of life of residents, ensuring security, as well as protecting, preserving and developing cultural historical heritage.

 

All goals and objectives of the Master Plan for sustainable tourism in the historical part of Vyborg are interconnected and aimed at implementing the concept of sustainable tourism as an integral part of the qualitative growth of the city, with an emphasis on its cultural and natural heritage, as well as the quality of life of residents.
