2022-01-21 :: B.S. Zhikharevich moderated the strategic session "Problems and Prospects of Socio-Economic Development of the Agglomerations of the Republic of Tatarstan" (House of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan)

On January 21, the strategic session "Problems and Prospects of Social and Economic Development of the Agglomerations of the Republic of Tatarstan" was held at the House of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan. The session was devoted to the analysis of the current results of the implementation of the Strategy "Tatarstan-2030" with an emphasis on the problems of agglomerations. The event was attended by Chairman of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation Alexei Kudrin, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, representatives of ministries and departments of the Republic, Russian scientists and experts. The discussion was moderated by Director of the Resource Center for Strategic Planning at the Leontief Center B.S. Zhikharevich.

During the session A.L. Kudrin expressed the idea of ??the need to create several mega-agglomerations in Russia, uniting large centers. One of these formations could appear in the Volga region on the basis of coordination of development and strengthening of interaction between Kazan, Ufa, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod, Ulyanovsk, Izhevsk. The President of Tatarstan supported this idea, suggested creating a working group with the participation of the Leontief Center and inviting representatives of neighboring regions to it. In the Strategy "Tatarstan-2030", developed in 2014-2015. with the consulting support of the Leontief Center, it has already been noted that "Tatarstan is the leader of the Russian growth pole Volga-Kama, which has prospects for global competitiveness." The development of this trend in the mega-agglomeration format seems promising.

At the end of the session, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov presented B.S. Zhikharevich with the state award of the Republic of Tatarstan - the medal "100 years of the formation of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic" for a significant contribution to strengthening the socio-economic potential of the Republic of Tatarstan.
