2021-03-22 :: The First Game of Goals International Championship Was Held

On March 15-22, the first Game of Goals International Championship was held. The Championship took place online. Elena Belova, Secretary General, and Olga Iakimenko, Head of Internet Projects and Marketing Communications, Green Mobility International Partnership Initiative Coordinator, Game of Goals Business Game Coordinator, took part in the Championship. Olga Iakimenko also moderated the Championship.

Teams from Lithuania, Latvia and Russia competed to be the best through developing innovative project ideas aimed to develop sustainable tourism and achieve the SDGs:

  1. Save Clean and Sustain — the Baltic Sea coastal plastic cleanup and creating unique waste containers as art installations (Lithuania).
  2. Sustainability starts here — Creating regional center for sustainable tourism (Russia, Ecological).
  3. Liepaja Lake Rejuvenation — Liepaja river basin and adjacent territory rejuvenation program (Latvia, LLR).
  4. Under the Green Dome (RU) – Creating eco-glamping network (Russia, EcoGlam).


According to the open vote results, the first place was shared by the teams from Lithuania (Lithuania) and Russia (EcoGlam). Both teams gained an equal number of points and became the first winners of the Game of Goals International Championship.

The most striking projects of the Championship will be presented by the teams at the Game of Goals to be held as part of the Strategic Planning Leaders Forum Youth Platform in October 2021.
