2010-11-15 :: About Probationers of Leontief Centre

In 2010, 15 students from 4 universities of St. Petersburg had a probation period in Leontief Centre – Saint-Petersburg State University of Engineering and Economics, Saint-Petersburg State University, Saint Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance and Saint Petersburg State Polytechnical University. Interns were involved in work on six projects that are implemented in the Centre:

1. The economic policy of sub-federal level during the crisis and the beginning of recovery (by the example of North-West).

2. Information Management System for Leontief Center research projects.

3. Preservation of cultural heritage and its use in Russia.

4. Territorial Strategic Planning as an instrument of regional policy (review of contemporary practice).

5. Nordic Council of Ministers Programme “The Nordic-Russian Exchange Programme for Local Civil Servants of North-West Russia and Northern Europe”.

6. Strategy of socio-economic development of Novoshakhtinsk for the period up to 2020 and the Programme of socio-economic development of Novoshakhtinsk in 2011-2013.

Interns are actively involved in preparing and conducting of seminars, conferences, and IX All-Russian forum "Strategic Planning in Regions and Cities of Russia”. According to the results of research activities within the framework of probation period, four students prepared and defended graduation projects excellently, including one in English; posted 4 articles, one of which has become the winner of the Second Essay Contest "The activities of NGOs in Europe and Russia."
