2019-12-13 :: Leontief Centre Hosted a Conference “Tools for Promoting Leningrad Region’s Gastronomy”

On December 13, the Leontief Centre hosted the conference “Tools for Promoting Leningrad Region’s Gastronomy” as part of the State programme “Development of Culture and Tourism in the Leningrad region”. The conference brought together over 40 participants: food tourism experts, local farmers, carriers of traditional culture, representatives of travel agencies, guest houses and tourist information centers in the Leningrad region and St. Petersburg. Participants shared good practices in promoting authentic regional cuisine and traditional food products. The Leontief Centre was represented by the Secretary General, Head of Development Department Elena Belova and the Head of Internet Projects and Marketing Communications Olga Iakimenko (moderator).

The conference aimed to discuss local dishes specific to different parts of the Leningrad region. The invited expert, Via Hanseatica Plus Project Coordinator Sille Talvet-Unt shared best European practice in promoting Estonian and Latvian cuisines as part of the “Taste HansEATica” Route project.
