2019-01-22 :: Nina Oding Participated in the VASAB Workshop “Urban dimension in spatial policies in the Baltic Sea Region. Trends and prospects of urbanization”

On January 22, Head of Research Department Nina Oding participated in the VASAB Workshop “Urban dimension in spatial policies in the Baltic Sea Region. Trends and prospects of urbanization” held in Schwerin (Germany) and gave a presentation on “Perspectives for spatial development of the small city: case of Sortavala”.

 

The workshop was attended by experts, practitioners and policy advisers from various Baltic Sea Region countries.

 

The event has become the second of two sequential workshops about the challenges of small and medium sized cities organized by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development of the Republic of Latvia.

 

The outcomes of the workshops will be summarized and agreed at the final conference scheduled for May/June 2019, in Riga.
