2017-06-05 :: The Russian-American Seminar "Russia and U.S.: Understanding and Trust Challenges" Supported by ICSER Leontief Centre

On June 5 the Russian-American Seminar "Russia and U.S.: Understanding and Trust Challenges" was held within VI International Conference "Business Ethics and National Models of Behavior" (St. Petersburg).

Organizers: St. Petersburg State University of Economics, Wharton School’s Zicklin Center for Business Ethics with participation of European University at St. Petersburg and ICSER Leontief Centre.

For a number of years, St. Petersburg State University of Economics has been holding the international conference on business ethics and national models of behavior, aimed at: disseminating international standards of business ethics in Russia and discussing the specifics of business and professional behavior, associated with institutional differences and cultural traditions.

The seminar "Russia and U.S.: Understanding and Trust Challenges" aimed at identifying and structuring gaps in understanding and causes of mistrust, existing in the relations between two countries in various fields and at different levels.

Welcome addresses were made by Patricia Dowden (President and CEO, Center for Business Ethics and Corporate Governance), Thomas Leary (U.S. Consul General in St. Petersburg), and Igor Maksimtsev (Rector of UNECON). The seminar was attended by Philip Nichols (Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania), Vyacheslav Shironin (UNECON), Jack Matlock (former US Ambassador to the USSR), Sergei Pavlenko, Gleb Pavlovsky (Effective Policy Foundation), Rudra Sil (Professor of the University of Pennsylvania), Oleg Babinov (Risk Advisory Group), Nikita Lomagin (European University), etc.

ICSER Leontief Centre was presented by Head of Research Department Nina Oding, Senior Research Fellow Lev Savulkin and Assistant Director-General for International Affairs Zhanna Ivanova.
