The publication captures the state of territorial strategic planning in Russia at the end of 2009, as reflected in the reports of VIII All-Russia participants of the forum Strategic Planning in the Regions and Cities of Russia. Reports are grouped into 6 sections. The first three contain material on the experiences and issues of strategic planning at three levels: national, regional and municipal. Subject information and information technology in strategic planning combines materials of the fourth section. The fifth section contains texts on such topical issues as innovation, branding areas, clusters. The sixth section is devoted to strategies for coastal areas. In addition, the collection included a summary of the Forum and the Forum’s recommendations. Compilation VIII sent to the participants of the Forum, representatives of federal ministries and agencies, regional and local authorities, city-forming companies, members of the Club of strategists, as well as a full member of the Association for Economic Development (ASSET).

The publication reviews conditions of territorial strategic planning in Russia at the end of 2007, represented in the reports of participants of the VI All-Russia Forum of Strategic Planning Leaders. All materials are divided into 5 groups. In the first chapter public authority representatives share practical experience in strategic planning. Second section concerns innovative strategies and support of innovations. The third and the fourth chapters are generated on a basis of geographical indications, one of which is a question of peculiarities in seaside territories planning, and another is a matter of strategic planning experience in Republic of Karelia. In the fifth chapter reports of scientists, experts and advisers, devoted to novelties in the theory and technology of strategic and financial planning prevail. Moreover the collection includes the Forum program, list of participants and recommendations. The book is recommended to practitioners of strategic planning, students and lecturers.
